Anything less than that does not come under diarrhea. Hormonal changes that take place during pregnancy could also be a cause of diarrhea during pregnancy. These changes could slow down the speed of the digestive process. As a result, diarrhea comes into the equation. In addition to this, it can also be caused by bacterial infection or virus attack.
Mostly, this condition occurs when you are nearing the delivery date. Pregnant women need to keep an eye on of this condition few weeks before the delivery date. Consult with your gynecologist and tell them about your medical condition. They might be in a better position to recommend a better solution for this problem.
As mentioned before, diarrhea usually occurs in pregnant women with the changes in diet so when the stomach gets used to the new diet, this condition subsides. The key is to increase your fluid intake in the form of juices, water, and broth. It is very important that you make up for the lost fluids by consuming more liquids.
If diarrhea does not go away after few days, then you should consult with your doctor. The patient will have to rely on antibiotics if the diarrhea is caused by bacteria or viral infection. Avoid fatty foods because they will make the condition of the patient even worse. Stick to easy on the stomach diet.
Diarrhea during pregnancy can become a serious pain in the neck if you are not careful and can also threaten your newborn baby. Although, it is not as dangerous as many other complications during pregnancy but, you should not take it lightly. Take plenty of fluids and eat foods which are light on your stomach.
